A first-time parent has revealed she asked her mother-in-law to leave the hospital shortly after her baby’s birth after she told the newborn: “You’re my second chance.”The parent said she had a difficult labour and ended up needing an emergency C-section. While she was in recovery, her mother-in-law visited the hospital to meet her new grandchild. The mum recalled: “I was groggy and out of it when she arrived, but I remember this very clearly: she picked him up, stared at him for a while, and said, ‘You’re my second chance. I won’t screw it up this time.’” She added that her husband didn’t hear it, but she did, so she asked her mother-in-law what she meant by it.
