Jeremy Clarkson has threatened to stand against Ed Miliband.Ed Miliband has responded to Jeremy Clarkson’s threat to stand against him at the next election.The Top Gear presenter hinted he could run for parliament in the energy secretary’s Doncaster North seat.Clarkson, who is originally from the Yorkshire town, posted on X: “People of Doncaster North. Are you happy with your MP? Would you like it if someone from your neck of the woods kicked him out?”He posted a similar tweet in 2013, when Miliband was Labour leader, but in the end opted not to run in the general election two years later.On the BBC’s Sunday with Laura Kuenssberg, Miliband was asked by guest presenter Victoria Derbyshire to respond to Clarkson’s challenge.He said: “I think he is a sort of long-standing aspirant to my seat. think he said in 2013 that he was going to contest my seat.“So look, it’s for other people to decide if they want to stand for parliament, including in my seat.“I welcome all comers. Let’s see what happens.”Clarkson, who now presents the hugely popular Clarkson’s Farm, has previously made clear his opposition to the Labour government.
