Loaf of white breadIf you love potatoes as much as I do, you’re probably sick of seeing them sprout prematurely, spawning terrifying tentacles in your cupboard.Good news, though – it turns out you can “cure” potatoes to keep them fresh for up to half a year, according to retail giant Tesco.And now, the supermarket chain has some sage advice for those of us who are sick of seeing teal spots of fuzz on our bread, too. The issue, it says, lies in the pack most supermarket loaves come in – replacing it can remove the moisture that’s responsible for the bacterial breeding ground. Paper bags are the answer (apparently)According to Tesco, you should de-bag your loaf and place it in a new paper home.This, the supermarket said, “allows just enough air to circulate, without trapping in moisture and allowing mould to propagate”.Baking company
