Trade Unionist Delivers Scathing Takedown Of Labour: 'Desperate Disappointment Is An Understatement'

Mark Serwotka and Alex Davies-JonesA trade unionist slammed the Labour government on BBC Question Time last night, calling it as “desperate disappointment”.Mark Serwotka, who worked as the general secretary of the Public and Commercial Services Union for more than 20 years, called out the party for “abandoning its core principles and working class communities”.Speaking from the Welsh town of Llandudno, Serwotka said: “To say that this Labour government has been the most desperate disappointment and has let down its core communities in Wales and the UK is an understatement of the year.”That remark triggered a round of applause from the audience.He continued: “I remember when Tony Blair won the election and when we were unhappy that Tony Blair was moving into the centre, we could see that the Labour strategists took the view that our core voters had nowhere else to go and we can go as right-wing as we want.“But now they’re seeing that people do think they can go somewhere else.
